Cleanliness drive at NFR

GUWAHATI, Sept 18:  A massive Cleanliness drive over all the five divisions of N F Railway i.e Katihar, Alipurduar ,Rangia, Lumding & Tinsukia involving the officers and other employees has started from September 15 which will conclude on October 2 as a part of countrywide ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ being organised in Indian Railways.

Chahatey Ram,General mager, N F Railway offered “Shramdaan” as part of ‘Swachhta hi Sewa’ Abhiyan at Kamakhya Railway station on August involving Officers, employees from N F Railway Hd. Qrs . The objective of the campaign is to mobilise people and reinforce the “Jan Aandolan” for sanitation to contribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a Clean India. Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign will see large scale mobilisation of people from all walks of life to undertake shramdaan for cleanliness and construction of toilets and to make their environments free from open defecation.

Chahatey Ram appreciating the contribution of Sanitation Staff, said that to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of such a huge station is very big challenge but the sanitation staff has done a commendable job. He further said that swacchta should become a social movement and awareness about cleanliness and sanitation should reach every station and  nook and corner of the railway premises. He also expect endeavour to maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the year over  N F Railway, stated a press release.
