Cleanliness drives by NHM

 GUWAHATI, Sept 25: In pursuance to the ongoing ‘Swachtaa Hi Seva’ the tiol Health Mission, Assam has organized a pledge-taking ceremony and cleaning drive at Dhirenpara Maternity & Child Welfare Hospital on Monday. Dr. Ashok Chandra Baishya, executive director, tiol Health Mission, Assam participated along with NHM senior officials and district health workers in the cleanliness drive, a press release said. The pledge-taking ceremony was organized by the health workers to maintain cleanliness, a press release said. 

NHM executive director Dr. AC Baishya said that NHM planned ‘Swachtaa Hi Seva Fortnight’ from September 15 to October 2, 2017 at all government health institutions in the State. Through the Cleanliness Fortnight all health institutions will organize cleanliness drive inside and outside their institutions and surroundings, he said and added that at village-level the ASHA would do the cleanliness drive along with the village health sanitation & nutrition committee members and at urban areas the Urban ASHAs would do the cleanliness drive at the community level along with the Mahila Arugya Samiti members.  Another cleanliness drive was also organized on ‘Swachtaa Hi Sewa’ campaign at Chandrapur PHC on Monday. Dispur MLA Atul Bora, along with Kamrup(M) Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Ganesh Saikia and other officials from the PHED, were present at the drive. The MLA and all other participants also took a pledge to maintain cleanliness all around and also planted trees in the hospital campus. Around 200 local people were present at in the drive.
