CM condemns defacement of bust

GUWAHATI, March 14: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal strongly condemned the act of vandalism in which a bust of noted political thinker and academician Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was defaced at Rabindra gar of Kokrajhar town last evening.

In a statement today, the Chief Minister said that the incident is very condemble and the Government would not tolerate such incidents. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Kokrajhar district to take stern action and book the miscreants who were indulged in the act under relevant provisions of law. He also directed the administration to step up vigil and take all necessary measures to prevent such acts of vandalism.
