CM's assurance to Garos

GUWAHATI, June 1:  A 12-member group of Garo tiol Union today met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his office at Assam Secretariat and submitted a memorandum to press for their demand for the creation of Garo Autonomous Council. The Union led by its advisor Dr. M.S. Sangma requested the Chief Minister to take step for the implementation of their demand. The Chief Minister, while reiterating his intent for the welfare of all sections of the society, assured the Garo tiol Union leaders of taking adequate measures to fulfil their demand, press release said.
