Cold wave in city

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Dec 13: Western disturbances have made people in Guwahati and elsewhere in Assam to huddle around fire here and there, everywhere. Some parts in the State, including Guwahati, received rains on Friday and Sunday last, due to, what the Meteorological Department said, western disturbances. After the few spells of rains in the State, a cold wave has gripped the people who are seen to bask near fire.
Thick fog fall is a common feature for the past two days in the city. The situation at night is very dangerous for vehicular traffic. During the day too, the sun is not seen due to thick haze since Friday. The lowest temperature in the city on Sunday was 14.2 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature was 23 degree Celsius.
