College library opened, girls' school to celebrate golden jubilee

MIRZA, Dec 16: Jogolia Anchalik Kanistha Mahavidyalaya at Amranga Borihat near Mirza opened its library today. The college located at the place of birth of renowned writer Mamoni Raisom Goswami set up in 1999 had been without a library since its inception.

The library set up by the maging committee of the college was iugurated today by retired teacher Khargeswar Das. “Now the students will be  benefitted from the library,” Das said after iugurating the library. The function was presided over by college maging committee president Mohan Basumatary. Annual prize distribution ceremony of the college was also held today in the presence of renowned teachers, doctors, PRI members and others.

Meanwhile, Bhagawatipara Madhabdev Girls’ High School there is going to celebrate its golden jubilee celebration with a two-day programme from December 26. The main post of the pandal of the celebration was erected today by organing committee president Golok Chandra Goswami.

In a press  meet today, Goswami said: “The Golden Jubilee of the school will be celebrated with a Budget of Rs 7 lakh. The celebration will have cultural processions, opening of the main gate, tree plantation, lecture on women education, interaction between past and present students of the school, cultural functions, etc.”

The organizing committee has sought cooperation of all people, including former students of the school.
