Conclave on sustaible development goals held - 12 May, 2017

GUWAHATI, May 11:  A conclave on synergising corporate social responsibility and sustaible development goals organised by Planning & Development Department, Government of Assam and Centre for SDGs, Assam Administrative Staff College, Assam which is an ONGC-UNDP-Govt of Assam initiative was being held today at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati.

Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia while iugurating the conclave spoke on the various aspects of corporate social responsibility and how to integrate it.

The session emphasized on the foundation ground for understanding the scope of partnership between Government, Corporates, Businesses and Intertiol Organizations.

It is also hoped to bring insights into how the various stakeholders can work together to take forward the Sustaible Development Goals within the context of Assam.

The iugural session was followed by technical session which will include mapping and integration of CSR projects with SDGs, creating institutiol platforms for integrating SDGs and CSR and to explore the possibilities for adopting the Chief Minister's Samagra Gram Unyan Yoja (MMS-CMSGUY) a SDG centric scheme for doubling the farm income of the farmers of Assam by 2021-22 within the corporate framework through CSR projects.

 In the iugural session KV Eapen, Additiol Chief Secretary, State P & D department delivered the welcome address.

Anurag Goel, Advisor to ASSC delivered the theme address. Jaco Cilliers, Country Director, UNDP delivered the keynote address and special address was delivered by M Ayyadurai, Executive Director, Basin Mager, Jorhat, ONGC.
