Congress alleges poll anomalies in Dimoria

GUWAHATI, April 12: The Dimoria Block Congress Committee alleged that there were malpractices during the polling in the Dimoria area yesterday. They lodged an FIR against the presiding and polling officers, besides an ASP on duty. Talking to newsmen at Guwahati Press Club today, Congress’ central election campaigning committee chairman Gopal Chandra Sarma alleged that during the polling the presiding and the polling officials appealed to the voters to vote for the BJP at Dimoria polling station. They behaved well with BJP workers and showed a rude behaviour with the workers of the Congress, he said. “Due to EVM sgs at polling station at Soram Basic School and Soram High School, the polling had to be started late and continued till 10 at night under candle lights. The Block Congress lodged a complaint before ASP Li Doley, but to no avail,” he alleged, and added: “An FIR was loghed against ASP Li Doley, presiding  officer Prasenjit Saika and polling officer Biswajit Kalita.”
