GUWAHATI, Feb 5: The State BJP has termed the open letter issued by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) when Prime Minister rendra Modi was in the State for the iuguration of the Gas Cracker Project at Lepetkota in Dibruagarh and South Asian Games at Sarisajai in Guwahati as a sick joke. A section of the press has published the letter, issued by APCC president Anjan Dutta making many a claim, as advertisement in their February 5, 2016 issue.

In a statement issued to the press today, State BJP spokespersons Shiladitya Dey and Rupan Goswami have said that after remaining in power for long 15 years, the Congress has opened its eyes wide on the problems afflicting the State now. “Remaining busy in distributing low-quality blankets and mosquito nets, they did push all problems towards the back burner. Since Prime Minister rendra Modi is taking steps to make what actually brings development in a country on in a state, the Congress is Assam feels envious. In all centrally-sponsored schemes in the social sector, there has been nothing in district administrations and their nodal agencies but corruption. The infrastructure development projects took more than 15 years, leading to cost escalation has squeezed the public exchequer. In the past 15 years, the Congress government in Assam couldn’t implement the Assam Accord, while the Modi government to racing against time to implement the pending works. The farmers, BPL people, unemployed youths and others have deprived and harassed in the past 15 years. The Congress that failed to solve all these problems in the past 15 years has no right to ask any questions to the Prime Minister.”
