Congress has no right to criticize us: BJP

GUWAHATI, June 3: The BJP Assam Pradesh has reminded of the Congress the act of the Manmohan Singh Government depriving Assam of oil royalty along with Gujarat just to prevent Gujarat from developing.

In a statement issued to the press today, State BJP spokesperson Promod Swami said: “Erstwhile Manmohan Singh-led Government at the Centre was on record depriving Assam of oil royalty along with Gujarat just to prevent rendra Modi-led Gujarat Government from developing. Assam started getting oil royalty only after rendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister.”

Swami further said: “The 15-year-long Congress rule in Assam was marked by only corruption. Now the Congress has no moral right to criticize the BJP governments, both at the Centre and in the State. The BJP has already given the account of the three-year Modi Government and the one-year Sarbanda Sonowal Government before the people. It has been revealed in a survey that during this period corruption has come down by 31 per cent. The collection of tax has risen. The Congress has no moral right to criticize the BJP. Sonowal is a man who stands with the commoners in one line. He has been able to give Assam a clean and transparent government. He has been able to bring about changes in Assam. Changes are glaring in the State now.”
