Congress hits back at BJP

GUWAHATI, Jan 30: Hitting back at BJP, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today slammed the party for launching ‘persol attack’ on PCC president Ripun Bora. APCC senior spokesperson Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya in a statement said that the two spokesperson of the saffron party instead of replying to the questions raised by Congress on implementation of first budget of the government has launched persol attack on PCC president Bora.

“Such type of statement is highly commendable and it nothing but the reflection of their frustration,” Bhattacharaya said in the statement.

State BJP spokespersons Rupam Goswami and Subhas Dutta in a statement on Sunday had said: “The tough stand taken by the Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal-led government at Dispur against corruption has shaken the Congress leaders. The people of the State gave their mandate to the BJP to put an end to corruption and to set up a clean and transparent administration at Dispur. The State Government isn’t ready to compromise its stand of zero tolerance against corruption.”

“APCC president Ripun Bora, who had to taste Tihar Jail dishes, is out to defame the State government. The allegations he has leveled against the government are laughable, and politically motivated,” they had said.
