Congress protests Rahul Gandhi's arrest

GUWAHATI, June 8: The workers of Assam Congress on Thursday staged massive protest against the arrest of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Madhya Pradesh, a press release said.  Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and other senior party leaders were arrested by the police in Madhya Pradesh for violating section 144.  Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders tried to make their way to Mandsaur in MP to meet the protesting farmers.  Police moved in to stop Gandhi as he defied elaborate security arrangements and tried to force his way into the state from ya Gaon in Neemuch, about 400 km from the state capital Bhopal. The Assam Congress workers staged protest in front of Rajib Bhawan here and shouted various slogans against Prime Minister rendra Modi and BJP government.
