Congress stages protest against demolition of Don Bosco's statue

GUWAHATI, Aug 20: On the instructions of the Guwahati District Congress Committee (GDCC), the Bharalumukh Block Congress Committee staged a one hour sit in protest demonstration today in Bharalumukh against the demolition of Don Bosco’s statue by alleged BJP supporters. BBCC general secretary Nekibur Rahman said: “We live in a democratic country where every religion and every person have their right to follow their religion in their own way. We condemn the demolition of Don Bosco’s statue in Bharalumukh.” He added, “No one has the right to attack on others’ belief and emotion. We, therefore, demand to punish the culprits of that incident and called the public to bring unity through peace and love.”
