Constable arrested

GUWAHATI, Dec 26: A UB constable of Bhangagarh police station, Abdul Majid, son of Late Mazu Seikh under Mangaldai police station in Darrang district, was arrested and sent to judicial custody in connection with a case (288/16 U/S 384/325/506 IPC) in Bhangagarh police station. The constable was arrested for extortion of Rs 10,000 and demanding more money from a girl whose family members lodged a complaint before Commissioner of Police, Guwahati. Action is also being taken against two other constables of 11th APBn, Dergaon in connection with the case.
