GUWAHATI, July 31: The Deori Jatiya Aikya Gatantrik Morcha (DJAGM) alleged large-scale corruption in the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) led by Bhairab Deori as the chairman. Addressing the press today, DJAGM secretary Dipak Deori said: The Bhairab Deori led DAC was involved in large-scale corruption in its tenure. Even after the expiery of its tenure, they tried to loot materials like power tillers and other products that came to the council in  2015-16 through fake tenders and receipts. Therefore, we demand early holding of the election of the council. We also demand a CBI inquiry into the anomalies of funds of the council.” Deori also demanded increase in the number of DAC constituencies from the present 20 to 40.
