Crucial APCC meet on Jan 5

GUWAHATI, Jan 2: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is going to hold a crucial meeting at Rajiv Bhawan in the city on January 5 on the countrywide agitation currently underway against the harassment meted being out to the people by the rendra Modi-led government in the me of demonetization of high-value currency notes.

 In a statement issued to the press today, the State PCC said that the meeting will have a detailed discussion on agitation launched by the Congress against the demonetization. “The meeting is aimed at bringing about awareness among the people of the State regarding the harassment being meted out to the people by the BJP government at the Centre in the me of demonetization,” the statement said, and added that the meeting would be attended, among others, by all party executives, office-bearers, District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, party MLAs and MPs, former party MLAs, MPs and ministers, and all party candidates of the 2016 Assam Assembly elections. AICC general secretary CP Joshi, who is the Assam in-charge of the party, will also attend the meeting.
