Culture minister flags off student's archaeology exposure tour

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: State cultural minister ba Kumar doley flagged off a student's archeology exposure tour today at Directorate of Archaeological department premises in the city.

"Like previous years the exposure tour under the 'Students participation in preservation of cultural properties' scheme aims to make the students aware of the monuments that Assam holds. The tour will also educate them about the necessities to preserve the monuments so that they can make others aware and attracted to such historical monuments," said Doley.

Technical officer Directorate of Archeology department bajit Deuri said, "This year we have students from Dhemaji and Lakhimpur and we will show them the monuments of Kamrup, Golaghat and Sivasagar. We will leave the students at their respective places on October 4."

Commissioner & Secretary of State Cultural department Pritam Saikia was also present on the occasion.
