Daimari seeks more wheat from Centre

GUWAHATI, August 31: Assam Minister of Food & Civil Supplies and Public Health Engineering Minister Rihon Daimari met Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan and Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation rendra Singh Tomar yesterday, and discussed various important issues with them.
Daimari requested Paswan to enhance the quota of wheat to 25,900 MT per month so that the household card holders can be provided at least 5 kg a month. He also requested that the cost share ratio for transportation and communication charges payable to FPSs/GPSSs may be revised to 90:10 from the present 75:25 for the interest of State. Daimari informed Tomar of the threat from arsenic and fluoride contamition in water in the State. He requested the Union minister to increase the budgetary allocation of PHE Department.
