Dalai Lama to speak at Gauhati University

GUWAHATI, March 30: Krish Kanta Handique State Open University and Lawyers’ Book Stall–a Guwahati-based publishing house that has completed 75 glorious years – are jointly organizing a function in Guwahati on Sunday, where Nobel Laureate Dalai Lama will grace the occasion and deliver a lecture on the topic, “Ancient Indian Knowledge in Modern Times.” The Dalai Lama has been engaged in a series of public lectures across the globe to spread the message of peace, harmony and tolerance, and this public lecture is also part of that effort. The lecture will be held from 9:30 am at the BK Barua Auditorium of Gauhati University. While the lecture is open to all, those interested in listening to The Dalai Lama may kindly collect entry passes by presenting their identity proof from the KKHSOU office at Housefed Complex, Dispur, and from Lawyers’ Book Stall, Panbazar. The Dalai Lama will also release “Mor Desh aru Mor Manuh” – the Assamese version of his autobiography at the same function, this was stated in a press release.
