GUWAHATI, Aug 5: Nritya Kalakshetra, an institution of Bharatatyam, is organizing a three-day dance drama at Rabindra Bhawan from August 8 to 10 from 6.30 in the evening. The whole concept of the event was prepared last one year by Elora Bora and Gayatri Krishveni Lakshman. Elora Bora is renowned Bharatatyam dancer and Gayatri is one of the senior dancers at Cheni Bharattya scene. There will be a three-day event. On the first day there will be ‘Arangetram’ by Ushma Das, on the second day Sri Krish in Sanskrit and on the last day the Ramaya will be staged in Bhojpuri.
Besides that to enjoy the event and to know the Assamese culture and to explore Assam, Emanuela from Italy, the World Ambassador of Blue Spirit Travel Group, friend of Elora Bora is visiting Assam.
Addressing the media, Elora Bora said, “To make this event a success I’ve been working since last one year. Even I visited Cheni many times for costumes, chorography and many more, and at last we came to this point. We all are hoping for the best.” Various artistes coming to play in the drama are Krishn ir from South Africa, Gapathy, Mithun Shyam from Delhi, Madhusudhan and Harshavardhan.
Gayatri Krishveni Lakshman also said, “The idea of dance drama came into my mind a year back when I visited Assam. I met Elora and she told me to do something for Assam. Later after filizing the concept we started informing our students. They all supported us to complete the project. I’m very happy to choreograph the drama. We’ve pre-recorded the music, especially for drama.”
After Assam the troupe will also take this dance drama to various places of India, as well as to Italy and South Africa to promote the culture of Assam.
