Dance drama on Sankardev today

GUWAHATI, Oct 12: A dance drama, a first of its kind in the State, on hagiography of Srimanta Sankardev will be staged on October 13 at Rabindra Bhawan. “The dance drama is Sankara Suro Parakasha. Such a drama on the life of the great saint has not been staged before. We will show the saint’s journey from his birth to death,” composer and director of the drama, Usharani Baishya, said. Baishya said that she had to study 51 different books on Srimanta Sankardev before taking the mission. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
