GUWAHATI, Dec 20: Kamrup(M) DC M Angamuthu has asked the Dispur Revenue Circle officer to conduct a survey from Bashishtha Chariali to Bashishtha Mandir so as to evict encroachers from there. He also asked the PHE to take beautification plans in the area.

As part of Swachh Bharat Mission the district administration, in association with the CRPF, carried out a cleanliness drive on the Bashistha temple premises today. Before welding brooms, the district administration, GMC and the CRPF pledged to keep Guwahati clean so as to make the city top the 500 cities of the country in their evaluation on cleanliness index. Angamuthu said that the people of the city would extend their help to the administration to keep the city clean as the cooperation of citizens alone has 40 per cent credit in the evaluation process.

It was followed by a meeting for the development of the Temple. The DC, CRPF Commandant Surjit Kumar, Doloi Girindra Mohan Sarma and others were present at the meeting. The DC asked the people of the State to make Bashishtha Temple one of the frontline temples.
