DC orders eviction

GUWAHATI, June 14: In most of the lanes in the Garigaon area along NH-37 water-logging has been severe only due to the blockages of tural channels and several illegal encroachments of secondary drains by some residents along NH-37. If such blockages and illegal encroachments are not cleared and strict regulatory measures are not taken the water-logging in the area cannot be mitigated. Kamrup Metropolitan Deputy Commissioner directed the GMC Commissioner and PWD Executive Engineer, NH Division to take necessary exercise for clearing the blockages and encroachment by June 20, 2017. The PWD Executive Engineer, PWD (R) NH Division is also directed to provide all necessary logistical arrangements.
