Deadline for use of Assamese in hoardings set

GUWAHATI, March 6: The State Language and Mother Tongue Implementation Committee of the Axam Xahitya Xabha, various students' unions and representatives of different commercial organizations have set a 15-day deadline for all government and private institutions in the Brahmaputra Valley to ensure the use of Assamese, followed by Hindi and English in their hoardings and advertisements. The central and regiol branches of the AXX will extend cooperation in this regard. The meeting also adopted a resolution demanding cancellation of trade licenses of multitiol and small businessmen if they violate this appeal. The meeting also took a resolution demanding 50 per cent question in mother tongue and the remaining 50 per cent in Hindi in all examitions for fourth grade to grade 1 posts in all government and private institutions in the State.
