Deaths of Tudu, Dhanowar condoled

GUWAHATI, July 10: Two former ministers – Mithias Tudu and Rameswar Dhanowar – passed away on Monday, Tudu in Kochbehar and Dhanowar in Dibrugarh. Along with rest of the State, a pall of gloom descended on the state Congress.  Tudu  made it to the State Assembly from Gossaingaon and Dhanowar from Digboi a number of times. Besides the State Governor and the Chief Minister, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and many other leaders and organizations condoled the deaths.

In a statement, Gogoi said: “While Tudu was a representative of the Adivasis, Dhanowar represented the Tea Tribe. They did much for the development of their respective communities.”

APCC president Ripun Bora, Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, MP Bhubaneshwar Kalita, AICC secretary Bhupen Kumar Bora, and other Congress leaders also condoled their deaths. State Industries Minister CM Patowary also condoled their deaths.

Meanwhile, the APCC also condoled the death of Congress Sevadal leader Lee Das.
