Debaters' forum formed

GUWAHATI, Oct 3: The eminent debaters of the state formed a new Debaters' Forum of Assam (DFA) today to attract the new generation in the field of debating and create awareness among people of the state. The forum was formed at the iuguration programme at Guwahati Press Club today. The Pro Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, Prof. Amar Jyoti Choudhury was the chief guest in the programme, He said: "It is a good step for the young state debaters, and to aware the new generation about the importance of the debating. Our state is lacking the art of debating, for which the public representatives fail at tiol platforms. Without reasoning, no one can place his point, and it is the need of the hour for our state to get respect and status." The forum has Dilip Kumar Baruah as chief adviser, Deepak Sarma as president and Umi Deka as secretary. The programme was also attended by debaters like Senehi Begum, JB Law College professor Prab Kumar Goswami and others.
