Decision to display portrait of Lachit in offices

GUWAHATI, Dec 9: The Government of Assam has decided that the portrait of the great Assamese warrior Lachit Borphukan will be displayed in all offices under the State Government, including educatiol institutions, boards, corporations, autonomous bodies, agencies etc. This decision is made with a view to keep the legacy of valour and patriotism of Lachit Borphukan afresh in the tiol life of Assam. The portrait of Lachit Borphukan should measure a length of 24 inches and breadth of 18 inches. The portrait should reflect the legendary warrior’s bravery and his dedication to his motherland. The portrait must be hung at a suitable position so as to draw the attention of maximum numbers of viewers.
