Deka opens NE Mridanga Festival

GUWAHATI, Jan 30: Former Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) president, veteran jourlist and writer Kaksen Deka today iugurated the two-day North East Mridanga Mahotsav, 2016 at a function at Shree Shree Ganesh Mandir Ground, Ganeshguri, Guwahati today amidst the presence of a large number of artistes and art-loving people of the Northeast.

Srikrish dance by an artiste from Bangladesh; Manipuri dance by the disciples of Guru Bibhul Kanta Sinha; Bihu dance; Assamese Mridanga (khul) by Jagaran Mancha, Bahari Xatra, Barpeta; Bodo Mridanga from Tamulpur, Mising Mridanga from Guwahati and Manipuri Mridanga by Kanko Sinha from Kolkata marked the day one of the festival that will conclude on January 31.
