GUWAHATI, May 7: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in its memorandum submitted on Monday to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-2016 has strongly appealed for detection and expulsion of all post 1971 foreigners from Assam irrespective of caste, creed and religion through due process of law. As such the AIUDF strongly opposed the Bill. “Assam is a heterogeneous state having a large number of people belonging to different tribes, castes and cultures. All the communities are residing peacefully for centuries together. The proposed enactment is bound to disturb the peaceful existence of the people of Assam”, said the AIUDF.
