Desist from plot to derail NRC update: Indigenous Muslims

GUWAHATI, Oct 18: Indigenous Muslims of the State have said that they are in favour of NRC update in accordance with Assam Accord, besides publication of a foreigner-free NRC within the stipulated time.
Talking to newsmen in the city on Wednesday, Advocate Nekibur Zaman, chief adviser of Bhumiputra (Islamdhormi) Somanyrakshi Sangram Samiti, Assam, said: “The indigenous Muslim ethnic groups in Assam have their mes enrolled in updated NRC based on their documents. After talks with State NRC coorditor Prateek Hazela and leaders of the AASU and 28 other ethnic organizations of the State we’re sure that no indigenous Muslim’s me will be left out in the NRC. Some political parties and other organizations have been advocating in favour of Bangladeshis and hatching conspiracies to put hurdles before NRC update work. We oppose such activities and caution them to desist from such designs.”
