GUWAHATI, May 16: Members of the Assam Home Guard Welfare Association (AHGWA) staged a dhar at Dighalikuphuripar in the city today in support of their demand for pay and park parity with constables in the State. They have been demanding that along with police, home guards should be employed permanently in all government departments in third and fourth grade posts. They also raised the demands for the transfer of in-charge Home Guard Commandant for Kamrup district Suman Das and PC Ajay Borgoyari. Another demand is maternity leave for women home guards. They sent to memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Guwahati Police Commissioner.
