Dhar by NEMEA in city

GUWAHATI, August 29: The North East MGNREGA Employees’ Association (NEMEA) staged a dhar for three hours at Dighalipukhuripar in the city today and submitted a memorandum to DONER Minister Vijay Kumar Singh in support of their demand of regularization of posts.

NEMEA general secretary Kukil Bruah said: "Since the inception of MGNREGA, we are giving our service to the programme, but we have not got our wage regularly till date. In all the north eastern states, the wage is not uniformed based on our works. We, therefore, demand regularization of our jobs, uniformity of salaries in every state of the Northeast and to form a separate department for MGNREGA for better service."
