GUWAHATI, May 21: With 93.2 per cent, Amit Saikia, who is suffering from the dreaded Muscular Dystrophy syndrome, from NPS Intertiol School, Guwahati, has earned laurels in the CBSE Class XII Examition, the results of which were declared today.

However, the parents and the chairman of NPS Intertiol School, Mr Jitendra th Das, are not in a mood to celebrate the success as they are very much concerned about the future of Amit outside NPS.

Amit is suffering from a disease in which muscles of the body get weaker and weaker and may slowly stop working and there is no treatment of this disease till now. The patient has to do some therapy like speech therapy, physical therapy respiratory therapy etc., for his survival, said Khairul Haque Saikia, father of Amit Saikia.

Amit, who can't even stand of his own, wants to be an IAS officer by taking sociology as a major subject. During his stay right from Class I till today at NPS, the magement of NPS Intertiol School offered facilities of the highest level and created an environment of study for Amit.

All his classmates and teachers are so cooperative that Amit never realized about his problems. "The chairman of the school JN Das has taken extra care for my son. He is like a God for me. Without his support this result wouldn't have been possible. Right from taking Amit from home till his return, Mr Das took care of him in every sphere. His presence and other activities in the school are totally monitored by a team of medical experts through the CCTVs installed in each and every corner of the school," Khairul Haque Saikia said.

"The biggest contribution to Amit's achievement has been his teachers and chairman of NPS Intertiol School, JN Das, who worked relentlessly with him. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible," Saikia said.

"Amit has been with us since Class II and he is a very courteous and groomed child. He is one of our favourites as he would never let anyone feel that he is disadvantaged in any manner and is one of the best students at school. Our teachers would always help him out in studying," said JN Das, chairman of NPS Intertiol School.

Amit will leave NPS soon as he has cleared the Class XII examition. To help him to crack the IAS, some other organization must come forward to help him the way NPS did. "I have approached lots of organizations for Amit's future study but in vain. I humbly request the front ranking organizations to help Amit in this regard," father of Amit said. If someone is interested to help Amit, he/she can contact the family at 9577639299.

Amit is not alone. Everyone's blue eyed boy at NPS Madhurjya was jumping on his toes following the announcement of the result today. He has also cleared the JEE-Mains 2016 examition this year. But for some onlookers how he maged to qualify for such a tough and coveted examition is a mystery as Madhurja is a so-called "Deaf and Dumb" boy right from the age of 2.

He has done some speech therapy through which he could read lips of people speaking. In school, his teachers speak in the way so that he could understand, if sometimes he can't, the teachers and his friends in school write in a page and he reply in that same page.

"Madhurjya wants to be an Engineer. The chairman of NPS Intertiol School, JN Das, has helped him a lot. Without him, everything was meaningless for us," said Jagadish Kalita, father of Madhurjya.

"We have tried our level best to help both Amit and Madhurjya in their study. At NPS, we are very much committed to do so in future as well. Each and every organizations should come forward to help such children," JN Das said.

Meanwhile, altogether 56 students of NPS Intertiol School have secured more than 90% marks in the CBSE Class XII Examitions. Anga Borah has topped among the NPS students with 96.8% marks.
