Differently-abled to paddle  from Bangkok to Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Nov18: Ride for hope 2: Save the Rhino, an initiative is taken by differently-abled Rakesh Para-cyclist.  The Para-cyclist plans to ride from Thailand’s capital Bangkok to Guwahati. He will cover 3,500 kilometres in his ride Bangkok. 
Para-cyclist Rakesh Banik said: “Fincially, I’m getting help from Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal. I hope the ride will be successful. I’ve also contacted to the Myanmar Embassy for security reasons while crossing the country. They’ve given a positive response that they will provide a special VIP bus for me. I will also distribute leaflets and books on rhino. I’ll also campaign on rhino, its importance and as to why it is famous in Assam.” Banik said: “Along with me, a photographer will go. Besides him, a guide from Myanmar will accompany us so that we can understand their language easily. As soon as the visa comes, I will conform the date. It will be done by this December.” On Saturday Banik launched his official website.
