Directive for New Year celebrations

GUWAHATI, Dec 27: The Kamrup(M) district administration has issued a set of directives on the celebrations of New Year.

Some of the directives are – all New Year programmes must be completed by 12.30 mid-night, service of liquor in bars should be as mentioned in their licenses, no bars will be allowed to remain open beyond the specified time mentioned in their licenses, use of crackers and fireworks is prohibited during the celebrations, use of rcotics and other intoxicants is prohibited, smoking is not allowed in any public places and there cannot be any vulgarity etc.

The organizations going to conducting celebrations will have to deploy adequate number of volunteers for peaceful celebrations, and the use of loudspeakers should be in accordance with the relevant guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of India. Those willing to hold celebrations will have to secure permission from the Guwahati Police Commissioner, district administration’s  Excise branch if alcohol is to be used during the celebrations, etc.
