Directive to cable TV operators

GUWAHATI, Jan 16: The Kamrup(M) district administration has set the deadline of January 31, 2017 for cable TV operators and service providers-cum-MSOs for total digitization from Network Alogue in accordance with the Cable TV Network Regulation Act, 1995. The district-level Cable TV Monitoring Committee of Kamrup(M) had a meeting today with ADC Pulak Mahanta in the chair. The meeting appealed to the operators to complete the work for broadcasting through Digital Addressable System (DAS) soon. The meeting also had a detailed discussion on if the programme broadcast by Cable TV had any adverse impact on the viewers. The Committee also decided to hold a meeting soon to observe the process of digitization of cable TV through the installation of set top boxes. The meeting also decided to hasten the process by sending letters to the cable TV maging body, failing which, the ADC said, action as tough as cancellation of license would be taken.
