Disaster Magement Authority meeting held

Guwahati, Feb 9: The first meeting of District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA) and Sub-divisiol Relief Committee was held today at Guwahati Circuit House under the chairmanship of Dr. M. Angumuthu, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metro.

 To take preventive measure during the earthquake, D.C. asked the DDMA officials to prepare an action plan with the inclusion of all the stake holders. He also asked to organize meeting of Area Sabha in GMC area and in Gaon Panchayat area Village Level as well.

He also advised to setup Circle Level Magement Committee and Citizen Committee with the inclusion of VDP, Fire & Emergency Services, OC’s of concern Police Station. It was decided in the meeting that in ward level and village level volunteers of 25 nos. each to be trained for First Hand Response during any kind of disaster.

The Deputy Commissioner asked all concerned to complete ongoing scheme within the month of March. For these Circle Officer and Heads of Office will supervise the work and will submit their report accordingly. The report on de-siltation work and cleaning up of Basista, Marabharalu, Bharalu, Bahini and Bondajan will be submitted by concern officer within 7 days, decided in the meeting. The D.C. asked to complete the construction of guard wall near Anil gar & bin gar should be within 30th April. Regarding encroachment in Silsako Beel the present status to be checked by GMDA, D.C. himself will also be supervised the matter.

In the upcoming monsoon season to protect the Lokopriya Gopith Bordoloi Intertiol Airport from the flood D.C. also asked the concern officer to cleanup all tural drains and channels in the meeting.

He also remarked that the plastic bag of 40 microns is only permissible. A team consisting Magistrate, Police official along with GMC official will look after the matter he said. He also advised the concern officer for work out a plan to prevent and to check the garbage of Deepar Beel coming through its water sources.
