Discussion on climate change held - 27 July, 2017

GUWAHATI, July 26: North East Dialogue Forum (NEDF), a network of civil society organizations,  organized  a two-day state-level consultation relating to climate change on July 24 and 25 in the city. Ranjan K Baruah of NEDF mentioned that there is less awareness amongst the public related to the plan and no visible action could be seen anywhere in the state.

Guwahati Press Club secretary va Thakuria said that media had immense role to make people aware of climate change and its implications. Moreover, media can compel the government as well as policy makers to adopt strategies to counter any kind of disaster, he said, and added that at least in adaptations the policy maker can create pragmatic strategies and help people rehabilitated.
