Dispur mourns death of Dev

GUWAHATI, August 2: The Government of Assam has expressed its profound grief at the sad demise of Santosh Mohan Dev, former Union Minister who passed away on August 2, 2017.

As a mark of respect to the departed soul, the tiol Flag is flown at half mast in the State capital and all district and subdivisiol headquarters of Assam today.

The Deputy Commissioner of Cachar has been requested to take necessary steps for providing State Honour during the funeral of the former Union Minister. On behalf of the State Government, he will convey the condolence message to the bereaved family members.

Meanwhile, Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary also expressed his deep condolence over the demise of former Union Minister Santosh Mohan Dev.

In a message, Patowary said: “Santosh Mohan Dev was a veteran political leader. His dedicated service for welfare of the people of the state and country will be deeply remembered.”

The Minister prayed to the Almighty for eterl peace of the departed soul and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
