Dispur not painting true picture of rural Assam: AGP

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 24: The AGP has said that the completion of the fourth year of the third term of the Congress government at Dispur is aimed at hiding its corruption, failure, commionraj and anomalies.  AGP president Atul Bora said: "Since the past 14-year rule of the Congress is marked by failure and corruption, there's no reason to celebrate the completion of the fourth year of the present term of the government. This is simply spending of crores of tax payers' money by a government that can't carry out many schemes due to cash crunch. Such a government shouldn't afford to spend crores of funds. This is considered luxury for a government which is badly affected by cash crunch."

Bora further said: "Still now lakhs of people have been languishing on embankments in the state, and their children are not attending schools. The exhibitions showcased by various development departments of the state at Sarusajai only paint a rosy picture that doesn't reflect the true picture of rural Assam. What Dispur showcased at Sarusajai is nothing but a performance by dramatists dressed in special and glittering attires only to eble the Congress to make it to Dispur yet again in 2016."
