GUWAHATI, Sept 1: In a significant move, the State Education department has decided to relieve president of governing body of the provincialized colleges of the State from the burden of fincial transaction of colleges.
P Jidung, Director of Higher Education of Assam, in a letter to principals of colleges, stated, “The president of the governing body of colleges are respected and leading citizens for which it would be unfair to give them signing of checkbook etc. Therefore, all the presidents of governing body of the provincialized colleges have been relived from the burden of fincial transaction of colleges.”
Jidung in the letter further stated that the matter of fincial transaction would be solely operated by principal od colleges in the capacity as DDO.
