Dispur releases Rs 63 crore under ‘Suhrid’ scheme

GUWAHATI, Dec 15: The State Planning and Development department today released Rs 63 crore under Suhrid, a scheme launched by the State government for giving relief to the poor people in respect of health care and higher education.

An official statement issued here today said that the amount has been released as per instruction of the State Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

It may be mentioned that an additiol amount of Rs 50 lakh each has been released to the 126 MLAs of the state for implementation of the scheme.  

The Planning and Development department has already issued necessary instruction in this regard, the statement said.

Under this scheme the respective MLA will be able to pay a onetime fincial assistance up to Rs 10, 000 for the treatment of the poor people and Rs 20,000 to poor students for study, it added.
