Dispur to construct 12,000 km new roads

Guwahati, Jan 5: State PWD minister Parimal Suklabaidya today said that a total of 12, 000 kilometers new roads will be constructed in the State in the next 2017-18 fincial year. Addressing a press conference here, Minister Suklabaidya said that state government has sanctioned Rs 2,000 crore for this purpose. He also said that during the last seven months, PWD has repaired 600 kilometers of roads besides constructing 106 RCC and 140 wooden bridges in the State. Suklabaidya further said that during this period, 502 kilometers new roads have been constructed.
