Dispur to submit DPR soon for NH repair

GUWAHATI, Aug 24: The State government will soon send a detailed project report (DPR) for carrying out the repair works of the tiol highways in the State.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in July this year had announced Rs 200 crore for immediate repair of tiol highways ravaged by flood in Assam.

State PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Thursday said that the PWD will send the DPR within this month.

“We are expecting that the union Road Transport and Highways Ministry will accord approval to the DPR by September,” Suklabaidya told The Sentinel.

He said that apart from this, the Central government has released an additiol amount of Rs 11 crore for repair of the highways in the State.

“Apart from this, we will carry out the improvement works with our regular allocation,” added the Minister.
