GUWAHATI, March 16: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today met representatives of Sadou Asom Zila Prashasan Karmachari Parishad at Dispur and assured to look into their demands. The administrative staffs working in districts and sub-divisions of the state have been on a strike for last couple of days demanding raise in pay scale equivalent to Secretariat staff and other facilities. After the Chief Minister’s assurance, the Parishad delegation called off their strike which has crippled the functioning of the Deputy Commissioner’s and SDO Civil offices in the state for the last two days. Chief Minister Sonowal assured to look into the demands made by Parishad and address its grievances and he also urged the Parishad members to abstain from strike as all issues could be sorted amicably through discussion without hampering functioning of government offices.
