District administration forms four teams to investigate

GUWAHATI, April 28: Elections are over, but soon after the elections, the people of the State are now facing the post poll heat of the market.

Keeping in view the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities in the market, the deputy commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Dr M Angamathu on Thursday formed four investigating teams to be headed by an additiol deputy commissioner each, in order to check the prices and bring the black marketers under control.

The four teams have been instructed to collect the wholesale and retail prices of all the essential commodities available in the market and submit it to the deputy commissioner.

The deputy commissioner has also instructed all the circle officers to keep a sharp eye on the prices in their jurisdiction and has also asked them to visit at least two markets daily and submit a report to him.

The four teams set-up by the deputy commissioner also include officials from the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

ADC Dipmala Gowala will lead a team in Fancy Bazar area, ADC Pratima Rongpi will lead a team in Maligaon area, Circle Officer of Guwahati Circle Suswap Kakoti has been entrusted with the Dispur area and Circle Officer Aswin mpui has been entrusted with the Noonmati-rengi and Chandmari area. All the teams have been asked to visit their respective areas with immediate effect.
