Draft NRC: Control room for complaints

GUWAHATI, Jan 3: For public to register their complaints regarding inclusion of their mes in NRC there is a control room set up in Kamrup(M) Deputy Commissioner’s office which is functiol from 8 am to 9 pm in all office days. The contact number for this control room is: 1070. There is also a website wherein public can lodge complaint/feedback. The website is: http://nrcassamcomplaints.in, said a press release issued by the district administration.

The district administration further said that mes of citizens not figuring in the part NRC draft might be due to (a) non-completion of office verification of documents submitted by applicants, (b) house-to-house verification (DMIT Investigation) may not be completed for those persons, (c) some applicants submitted Gaon Panchayat certificates as linkage document for which verification will be taken up as per the Supreme Court’s order in subsequent phase, etc. The release said that applicants who do not find their mes in the part publication of Draft NRC should not have any fears and apprehension as their verification is under progress which will be completed soon.
