Drive by Swachh Asom Se soon

GUWAHATI, Oct 19: The Swachha Asom Se (SAS), a non-governmental organization, is going to start a drive to make the city and the state clean and green. SAS working President Mantu Kumar th said in a press conference in Guwahati Press Club today: “With Prime Minister rendra Modi initiating Swachh Bharat, we are also going to initiate the drive from our organization voluntarily. As the first step of the drive, we have already formed a group of volunteers of 2,000 members for the city, and the volunteers are going to make the city one of the cleanest cities of the country. We are planning to make the city like village Mawlynnong of Meghalaya, which is the cleanest village of Asia, and for that at present, we are going to take cleaning work two hours a week in some select areas.” th also said: “The 216 square kilometre Guwahati city produces 600 tonnes of garbage daily, and so we are planning to collect all these garbage and dispose it off in scientific ways. We are also planning for recycling of garbage.”
