Drive on use of the Assamese language

GUWAHATI, Feb 5: The Asomiya Yuva Mancha (AYM) has distributed leaflets in every government and non-government organization, school etc., from Maligaon to Ganeshguri in the city yesterday in support of its demand for the use of the Assamese language in every hoarding and poster. AYM general secretary Jitul Deka said: “Kamrup (M) DC M Angamuthu has instructed all institutions and organizations to use the Assamese language in every hoarding and poster in the city by January 31. However, many organizations have not been following that instruction. We, therefore, have conducted this drive to distribute leaflets in all institutions and organizations with the message of using the Assamese language in every poster and signboard. We also demand the cancellation  the licenses of all organizations and institutions which do not follow the instruction issued by the Deputy Commissioner.”
