By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, February 27: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta too has his wish list to get reflected in the Assam Budget for 2015-16.

With the Assembly elections round the corner in the State, what else could Dutta wish other than wooing voters? Dutta’s list sent to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who also holds the Fince portfolio, is full of populist measures for the inclusion in the State Budget. Dutta wished that the state Budget should have more aid like thread, sewing machines etc., to Self-Help Groups (SHGs), self-employment schemes for unemployed, skill development training, mosquito curtains and blankets for the poor, special schemes for rickshaw-pullers and thelawalas, solar lamps for students residing in places that are yet to be electrified, more money for Indira Awas Yoja (IAY) houses, sports kits for clubs, more coverage under old-age pension, etc.
